A refined mix is usually 3–5 depending on sofa size. Combine one pattern, one texture, and one solid for balance.

18"–22" are common for sofas and beds, with lumbar pillows for contrast and support.

Use a lead pattern, then pair it with solids and textures in the same color family. Vary pattern scale for an intentional look.

If covers and inserts are sold separately, choose inserts that are slightly larger than the cover for a fuller look.

Follow care labels. Spot clean when possible and rotate pillows regularly to maintain shape.
